People keep telling us how planning their wedding meant getting loads of tastings. We've really not managed to do very well on that front – just a few wedding fair canapés and some pies! Still, some pie is very much better than no pie.
The main meal of the day will be good hearty Sri Lankan food – a couple of curries and veg dishes, with rice and hoppers on the side, hopefully served up at 3pm.
There'll also be some "short eats" just after the ceremony – we don't want anyone getting hangry!
Please let us know of any dietary requirements on your RSVP form.
Pies, glorious pies! Along with mash and gravy.
These'll be served up at 8pm, while the ceilidh band has a much-needed break.
We ask everyone to order their pies on the RSVP form.
Well, it's certainly not going to be a dry wedding!
While there'll be no drinking before (or during) the wedding ceremony, we'll hopefully be able to join you all for something fizzy and/or beery straight afterwards.
There'll be wine served with the meal, and a bit more fizz to be had with the speeches.
It'll be a paid bar at the evening reception, carrying the usual bar stuff – beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks. Victoria Baths is a cash-free venue so you'll have to tap your card / phone.
While we're not going to have a traditional wedding cake, it won't surprise any of you to know that THERE WILL BE CAKE.
We'll have a big ol' table full of lovely cake made by the Marriotts (naturally) and some of our friends (hopefully).
If you'd like to contribute a cake, tray bake, or similar, please get in touch and let us know what sort of thing you fancy making.
